Our Mission
Wildland Atlas is dedicated to making outdoor exploration easier, safer, and more inspiring. We combine high-quality geospatial datasets with fast, intuitive interactive maps to give users clear insight into beaches, forests, public lands, trails, recreation facilities, campsites, waterways, and more. Our goal is to bring clarity to the outdoors — whether you're planning a family beach trip, navigating forest service roads, exploring wilderness areas, or discovering new places along the Great Lakes.
About Wildland Atlas
Wildland Atlas is an independent mapping project built on Leaflet.js, open GIS datasets, and custom geospatial layers. Our goal is to create an accessible, mobile-friendly library of interactive maps covering beaches, forests, national recreation areas, and natural landscapes across the United States.
Every map on this site is handcrafted using public data sources including the U.S. Forest Service, NOAA, state agencies, and custom datasets curated for accuracy and clarity.
